Wood Working
Myles and I went to the fair a few weeks ago... We found a little man who did amazing things with wood. Come to find out that he teaches classes every week for $5, ya crazy eh!! so we have been going for the past three weeks, it has been such a blast. Myles is obviously better at it than me, but we both enjoy it so much!! it gives us something to do at night, without our TV hooked up it has been nice to find other things to do. The big hunk of wood is going to be a serving tray.... The pear is myles' and mine is the apple. :)

New Car....Old Car
So, the low down is that because I work an hour away from home, there was no way I could make it in time for Myles to get to school on time. So we bought this '95 Maxima, great car, but it has a few problems, just cosmetic though. right now it won't pass inspection because of the following... I guess they don't like the rust out here, but we only paid 1,000 for it so we thought it was worth fixin it. we had an auto guy look at it and said to pass inspection it would be $400, but then we remembered Bondo, and decided to take the task into our own hands, $60 later, we are workin on it and I will keep you updated with pics and messages. Well what can I say, Myles and I love projects and we can't work on the house... it's not ours :)
Sunrise
I wanted to share a sunrise with you guys, they are amazing EVERY day! It is crazy, I love them. I love driving to work with the fog lifting every morning, it really is a beautiful place. The first one is sunset, and the next is sunrise. These pictures don't do it justice (pictures usually don't), just know I was thinking of home while basking in the beauty!

Family heratige
Here are some beautiful pictures form the graveyard. We stopped on the way up here in a small town called Kingfield, Myles has a lot of heritage there. It was very special for us both to be there, really just hit home. It made us both really feel like we are meant to be here...

More of the house and us
Here are just a few more photos. These first ones are of the Drive, well one before we left and that beautiful barn is on the farther side of Nebraska...
Surry loves all the noises from the birds she goes nuts!!
THE FAIR...
Myles and I went to the Presque Isle (in french this means almost island, because the rivers and lakes that surround it make it almost an island) Fair on Wed this past week. We had a blast.
This was the horse racing, This was the first horse races either of us had ever been to!
The announcer was really quite funny to listen to and the jockeys were all old grumpy men!! It was so funny.
These horses pulled the most distance with >3200lbs, they pulled it 657 feet, or something, they worked together great. Just in comparison for ya, this is how we pulled it :)
The MAINE adventure cont.
Ok so we just got internet, we have been here a week and four days and they just got it up and running. So sorry for the delay in all the photos and fun adventures we have been having. We have been out on the lake every day or night! it is beautiful, I think all together the lake is about 3/4 mile long and I don't know 200 yards across, so a small pond is what they call it here. I can see why around every corner there is a lake or a pond or a river or something it is A LOT of water. That is the side yard, down to the lake is about 60 yards or so. Surry loves the water now... she will just jump in off the dock and take a little swim around. we ahve to check her for leeches after her swim though... yuck!! She had a few after one particular night that we could not get her to stay out of the water. She jumped in off the canoe the first night we were here.... Myles paddled away from her and she was not super happy about that . haha!
These are the sunsets... an the sunrises are just as beautiful, some mornings after it has cooled over night I get up to find bright orange sunrises and fog floating over the lake, it is more beautiful that I can describe. The weather is wonderful, there have only been a couple of hot days the rest have been right around seventy with the humidity, it is perfect.
So some things we have found that we love so far........ There are these tiny shacks that people have in their yards, they sell fresh produce out of them... on the honor system, ten lbs of fresh potatoes $3.00, and you just put your money in the box! They are everywhere, it seems that every other house has one and a huge yard. here are a couple funny signs too...
Cross country skiing is HUGE here as is
snowmobiling, and four wheeling!
There are lots of moose, I have seen two so far, they say that they will become more active as the fall sets in.
